Ingredient Label Secrets that are Sabotaging your Weight Loss Efforts
If there’s one thing I can teach you that will quickly steer you in the right direction towards improving your healthy lifestyle, it would be how to uncover the food industry’s little known ingredient label secrets. It starts with attractive packaging. Since eating healthier whole foods has become a trend, the manufacturers are doing everything in their power to revamp their brands so they appear to be healthy. In my opinion, nothing could be further from the truth. Most companies are in business to make money, right? It’s not about your health my friends, it’s about more attractive marketing.
Big Food companies know you’re looking at the food label chart. It seems legit because it’s based on the FDA’s recommended daily servings for a 2000 calorie diet. However, if you follow the money, you may agree with me that the FDA is heavily influenced by lobbyists representing Big Food and Big Pharma. That’s a red flag. So I did a little digging and found a terrific little book written by Jason and Mira Calton called “Rich Food Poor Food.” If you really want to shop smarter I advise you to read it. But for now, I’ll just give you an idea of how these ingredient label secrets are sabotaging your weight loss efforts.

These ingredient label secrets are just the tip of the iceberg. I love to share what I’ve learned because for years I thought I was doing all the right things, based on common knowledge, and still I was making zero progress towards my weight loss goal. I’d like to help you avoid all that frustration! What I found was that it comes down to basic science. I’m kind of a nutrition geek now, and I feel very strongly that this information is important for the general pubic to know. Yes, they often contradict what we’ve been taught and that’s why I’m so passionate about enlightening the masses. Here’s a perfect example. It’s amazing, when you have the right information weight loss really isn’t a problem any more. I’ve been able to maintain my high school weight for 5 years, I don’t have cravings, I don’t count calories and I don’t really exercise all that much. I love food, and now that I’m educated, I’m choosing healthier foods 80% of the time, which leaves plenty of room for the fun stuff.
